Participants can learn more about this and a wide range of topics including business opportunities\, and compost solutions at the WNC Food Waste Solutions Summit. The Summit\, is a regional gathering aimed at disrupting food waste issues facing our communities\, expanding our networks\, and inspiring dynamic solutions to a pervasive problem.\nThis year’s Summit will bring together local businesses\, organizations\, educational institutions\, community leaders\, and interested individuals to expand conversations and deepen collaborations that have emerged since the 2017 Summit. The event will kick off with opening remarks by N.C. Department of Environmental Quality Secretary Elizabeth Biser and will wrap up with a networking gathering at Devil’s Foot Beverage Co.’s The Mule taproom.\nOther presenters and panelists include Harvard Food Law and Policy Clinic\, Natural Resources Defense Council\, Biltmore Estate\, 12 Baskets\, Food Connection\, DirtCraft Living Soils\, Compost Now\, UNC Asheville\, Bounty & Soul\, and more.
