Farmers markets are critical sales outlets for farmers in the Southern Appalchians, as well as important food access points for communities. Markets have an immediate need to meet public health requirements during the COVID-19 pandemic. Through the Farmers Market COVID-19 Response Grant, Appalachian Grown markets can apply for up to $200 in funds to improve public health procedures at market.
Items eligible for funding include, but are not limited to:
- informational/directional signage
- caution tape
- traffic cones
- hand washing systems
- packaging materials and labels for farm products
Applications will be approved on a rolling basis and are available until funds run out. Approved applications will be funded in full within 10 days of approval. Please apply for only what you need now. Markets may apply again as new needs are identified and funds are available. Find more information on how to donate to this relief effort.
