As part of ASAP’s Get Local campaign – a year-round initiative that brings together farmers, chefs, and community members to highlight a featured local food – ASAP is partnering with restaurants that go above and beyond when it comes to purchasing and serving local foods from Appalachian Grown certified farms. Jack of the Wood is a mainstay of the local food community, and they have teamed up with Imladris Farm and ASAP to create a unique event to celebrate local food!
Get Local on the Mountain will take place on top of Little Pisgah Mountain in Fairview, NC. At 4,000 feet, the view is one-of-a-kind. The food will be just as special! Featuring apples and rabbits courtesy of Imladris Farm, Jack of the Wood Executive Chef Jason Brian has created a special menu with small bites and drinks followed by a sit down, family style dinner.
Get Local on the Mountain will be Sunday, October 19, 1:30-5:30 pm. Tickets are $60 per person, which includes food, beer, wine, and the view! Proceeds of the event benefit ASAP. Parking will be at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, 455 Hollywood Road, Fairview, NC 28730. Ticket holders will be shuttled to the event site on Little Pisgah Mountain. Dress will be country casual, sturdy shoes, and jackets. In case of bad weather, mark your calendars for October 26 as the back-up date.
Highlights of the small bites include country ham mousse served on a cracker, apple-bruleed chèvre- sage caprese, speckled butterbean dip. The main course will be rabbit-apple-mushroom pot pie with French-style apple stack cake for dessert.
