For over 20 years, ASAP has worked to strengthen local and regional food systems and build healthier communities. We support family farms, link farmers to markets, create community connections to local food, and conduct rigorous food systems research at our Local Food Research Center . Through advancing food systems change in the Appalachian region and beyond, we have become a national leader in the local food movement.
In addition to our programs and initiatives, we offer consulting to foundations, public agencies, and community organizations across the country. Given our deep expertise in local food systems, much of our consulting is focused on helping clients increase support for local food and farms in their communities.
Whether you are a funder who is seeking support with understanding an existing food system and identifying promising strategies for improving it, a public agency who wants to baseline food and farm activity in a particular geographic area, or a community organization that is interested in creating a local food branding and certification program, we can help you. We are committed to working with clients like you to build your capacity, deepen your impact, and achieve greater success.
