We are a working goat dairy and farmstead creamery on about 50 acres. In the fall, we have about 60 goats as well as a small flock of sheep, working pigs, and numerous free range chickens. Tour the historic barns, the milking parlor, and the cheesehouse, as well as visit the farm store. Hike up the hill into the upper pastures to visit our highly sociable goat herd or explore the conservation area flanking the restored waterways that run through the farm. Addison Farms Vineyard is a fourth-generation family farm in Leicester. We started our vineyard in 2009 to preserve this working farm for future generations. Visit with the Addison Farms Vineyard team to hear about our farm history, growing grapes, and wine making. Take in vineyard views from our front porch. Depending on the weather, you may be able to view the grape harvest in action. All ages welcome, though those 21 or older can experience our wines in our tasting room. We are a historic working farm raising grassfed beef, as well as pastured pork and chickens. We are also now a Savory Hub, teaching local homesteaders and farmers regenerative practices! Take a farmer-led tour of our pastures, animals, and farm practices. Visitors can enjoy self-guided barnyard tours, visit the baby chicks in the brooder house, and see the cows and pigs in the pasture. We also have plenty of space and equipment for kids to play, including our culvert slides, sound silo, hammock circle, treehouse, and creek! Stop by the fully stocked farm store for samples and sales, and stay for a hot dog or bratwurst in the barn or on the grass. Tours will take place at 12 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. each day.

DIRECTIONS: Take I-26 E to exit 67 for US-74 E. Continue ahead for 5.4 miles then take exit 167 for NC-9 and turn right onto NC-9 S. In 6.9 miles turn right onto Harmon Dairy Lane and then take your first left. The creamery and farm store will be on your right.

We raise pigs, chickens, cattle, bees, and sometimes sheep. Meat is processed here on farm at our N.C.-inspected meat processing facility and sold via animal shares. Visitors can check out a recent planting of about 1,000 mixed fruit and nut trees that are part of our work to establish a pig habitat. Guided tours and demonstrations available at the bottom of every hour, with self-guided tours available at any time. Kids can practice paleontology as they search for animal bones to learn anatomy and earn a prize. Plus, kids can feed treats to the pigs and chickens.

DIRECTIONS: Take I-26 E to exit 67 for US-74 E toward Rutherfordton. Take exit 167 toward Mill Spring/New Prospect and turn right onto NC-9 S and continue for 6 miles. Take a slight left onto Chesnee Rd. and after two miles, turn right onto Melvin Hill Rd. Stay left at the fork and continue on Melvin Hill Rd. and the farm will be on your right.
