With the theme “Small Farms, Big Community,” this event will bring together over 1,000 farm and food system professionals and advocates from 13 Southern states, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands to advance sustainable agriculture and strengthen the local food movement across the region.

With a focus on collaboration and innovation, SOWTH 2025 will offer participants tools, resources, and partnerships to tackle the challenges facing today’s Southern food systems.

The conference will feature specialized educational tracks, a distinguished keynote panel, and a delicious Farmers Feast. Among the education tracks is the opportunity to participate in peer-led farm tours, covering topics like cooperative farm ownership, scaling operations for wholesale markets, food safety, and post-harvest processes.

Key topics to be addressed include sustainability, racial equity, rural development, and community-based agricultural solutions.
