Everyone is full of cheer at area farmers tailgate markets, welcoming the arrival of the holiday season. Starting this week many markets will have special events in honor of the beginning of the winter. Market managers, vendors, and farmers want to celebrate with you, and say thank you for supporting them this past year!
What better way to say thank you than a complimentary meal? That’s what the folks at Madison County Farmers Market have planned for every weekend until December 20. While you eat the delicious hot lunch, also shop for shop for gifts such as Christmas jam from Sunset Valley Farm, natural dog and cat treats from R Mountain Farm, and wreaths and popcorn from Long Valley Eco-Biotic Farm.
Attend a special Holidayfest this Saturday, December 6 at Transylvania Farmers Market, including a visit from Santa. Check out yarn from Cherryfield Farm as a great gift for your beloved hobbyist, or perhaps create a wearable or decorative gift with this beautiful local yarn.
At Jackson County Farmers Market there will be Christmas songs this Saturday, December 6, as well as a Fundraising Feast next Saturday, December 13. Also, find Gingerbread Reindeer all month- a delightful treat!
Asheville City Market has a special treat in store for market goers this month! On December 6, Urban Orchard will be sampling and selling their hard cider. On December 13, Urban Orchard, Noble Cider, and Addison Farms Vineyard will have their libations to sample and for sale. Stock up for holiday visitors and hand crafted gifts. Also, Corners Knob Farm will have Christmas Trees for sale December 6, 13, and 20.
Bring a dish to share next Tuesday, December 9 to the Mothlight for West Asheville Tailgate Market’s community potluck at 6:30 to celebrate with market vendors and other community members!
