Fresh at Farmers Markets This Week

This weekend is the last chance to get gifts, meal ingredients, and anything else you need for the holidays at area farmers tailgate markets.
Pickles, to some, are better to bring over than a bottle of wine. Green River Picklers have several different varieties of pickled vegetables. Have any knitters in your life? Wellspring Farm can tell you which skein of yarn came from which of their animals — and, the colors are gorgeous! Art posters are great for any teenagers in your life, or friends with new homes in need of decorating. Find different options from artist, Trish Tripp. And, grits are perfect for any breakfast-lover in your life. East Fork Farm has beautifully bagged grits, milled on their farm. Find all of these vendors and more at the North Asheville Holiday Bazaar this Saturday.
As next Saturday is Christmas Eve, and the following Saturday is New Year’s Eve, both the North Asheville Tailgate Market and Asheville City Market will be closed. On January 7, Asheville City Market opens for the winter at their indoor location, the Asheville Masonic Temple, in downtown Asheville. Many vendors from the North Asheville Tailgate Market can be found at the YMCA Indoor Winter Market, beginning January 7, in the fellowship hall of Crosspoint Community Church.
